“Drugs N Hella Melodies” was originally screened on Don Toliver’s Instagram account, titled “Best birthday ever,”, eventually released June 18, 2021, just five days after Don turned 27. The single features Kali Uchis, a musician and songwriter, her second studio album, Sin Miedo, released in 2020, spawned the single "Telepatía" which became Uchis' first solo charting hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Another alliance with Canadian artist Kaytranada named "10%" won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording, making it Uchis' first Grammy win.

Don confirmed this would be the second single to L.O.A.D, the song’s music video was an extension of Don’s debut single for the album, “What You Need,”.

Don Toliver, is from Houston, Texas, a rapper, had delivered his first two projects, Donny Womack in 2018 and Heaven Or Hell, released March 13, 2020. He was preparing his third effort for a release. L.O.A.D (Life Of A Don) set to launch sometime in July.
