Omah Lay - Never Forget

Updated: Apr 4

Omah Stanley Didia, known by his stage name Omah Lay, was born May 19, 1997. The Nigerian singer and songwriter gained fame after his hit single, "Bad Influence", released January 16, 2020 from his ep- Get Layd. "Bad Influence" became the highest streamed afro beat song on Apple Music in 2020. In an interview with Cool FM, he explained the song was a summary on his life experiences living in Lagos, Nigeria.

Before moving to Lagos (the most popular state in Nigeria) from Port Harcourt (capital of Rivers State, Nigeria) as an independent artist, the original name he picked for his ep album was 'Child's Play'. He is signed to KeyQaad and Indie music label based in Nigeria. In an interview with Sound Cloud, he explained, his five song ep- 'Get Layd', was an experiment, meaning, he was testing the waters on how far he could go with his gift in music. His idea for the record came from a confluence of feelings related to love, transformation, and creative expression.

'Boy Alone', released July 15, 2022, is a relatable hymn in which the afro-fusion singer reveals his darkest vices, fears, and stressors with exquisitely musical sensitivity in the recording studio. 'Never Forget' is yet another heart warming tune in which Omah Lay conveys with melodic instrumentals. Written by Omah Lay and Semzi ; the deep melodious afro beat vibes begin to move you once he hits the vocals "From the slums I come, Oh, Marin' Base boy

I know love is war, I know God is God (oh), And, I will never stop, 'Til the war is won, Tell the kids unborn".
